A seat at the Table
AHEC and renowned Italian furniture makers Riva 1920 have teamed up to create the first edition of the Design Award A seat at the Table, which aims to discover emerging design talent from Italy and give a selection of four designers a voice and a platform to exhibit their work and ideas, along with the opportunity to see a prototype of their project produced.
The project awards four table designs in solid wood, using one of a choice of three sustainable American hardwood species: American red oak, cherry and maple. These species make up 40% of the naturally regenerating American hardwood resource, and despite having amazing performance, aesthetic, and environmental qualities, are currently being underused in Europe.
