DESIGN

Limiting Factor refers to the process of development and evolution with only limited resources.

We live at a key moment in which the humans, after centuries living a sedentary lifestyle, are seeking to escape from the routine.

That is what we seek with this project, a return to the essential. The return to a way of life in which wealth is not taken for granted when we lived with the idea that resources were limited and we had to measure the way that we used them.

We live at a key moment in which the humans, after centuries living a sedentary lifestyle, are seeking to escape from the routine. Globalisation has created citizens of the world, and technology has made it possible. Today you can get to know places that are thousands of kilometres away from the comfort of your couch at home, and paradoxically, you can also work from the remotest places.

However, as the idea of home becomes increasingly intangible, we still strive to build concrete giants, which often end up as abandoned skeletons. The idea of our Limiting Factor is to create shelters that can be easily transported and are capable of merging with nature. Thus the cities would not be containers that come alive only at certain times of the year, but they would appear and disappear, temporarily or permanently. In this way, architecture stops being the protagonist of the cities, making way for people and nature.
