BRIDGE BY HAMISH COCK

From the brief, Hamish designed and made a low coffee table, using American red oak and glass. The glass sits on geometrical red oak legs, inspired by the architecture of bridge structures.  The precise angles of the oak legs were carefully calculated before they were turned on the lathe and connected using bird-mouth joints. A glass top is attached using UV activated glue which dries completely transparent – a property which allows the grain detail of the red oak to show through the glass.
