Too Good to Waste to be shown at Maderalia

Too Good to Waste is an interactive installation, designed by Benedetta Tagliabue - EMBT, crafted by furniture makers Benchmark and initiated by AHEC, that seeks to question the validity of the relationship between trends and wood consumption. Originally designed for Milan Design week and shown for a second time in Segovia for the Hay Festival in 2017, the installation is being shown for a final time at this year’s Maderalia in Valencia.

AHEC will exhibit Too Good to Waste in the area called Timber Experience - Espacio AEIM, located in Pavilion 6, Level 3. Stand B 106 of the Maderalia Fair 2018, to be held from February 6 to 9. AHEC will also develop, in collaboration with the Spanish Association of Wood Trade and Industry (AEIM), two technical conferences on:

  • the use of American hardwoods in outdoor applications.
  • an alternative approach to demonstrate the legality and sustainability of the forest resource.

TECHNICAL SEMINARS

On Thursday, February 8, at 4:30 p.m., Neil Summers, Technical Advisor of AHEC, will develop a presentation on the use of American hardwood in exterior applications. Neil will comment on, among other things, the latest advances in thermally modified American tulipwood and ash.

On Friday 9th at 10:30 a.m Mike Snow, Executive Director of AHEC, will speak about an alternative approach to demonstrate the legality and sustainability of the forest resource, emphasizing the new AHEC tools such as the Interactive Map and the tool for online evaluation of the life cycle of hardwood products.
