De onderstaande cases illustreren hoe hardhout succesvol gebruikt werd om zowel vorm als functie in het ontwerp van gebouwen te integreren.

Hakkasan resturant in Abu Dhabi has specified American red oak for its carved wooden lattice screens adding luster to the luxurious interior of the high-class restaurant.

La Cucina, Cologne Furniture Fair
Internationally known Italian furniture maker RIVA1920, launched key pieces of furniture in American red oak at the Cologne Furniture Fair in January 2011. The red oak used in the beacons was recycled to produce the first pieces for the collection.
