Sir Terence Conran has commissioned Sebastian Cox… Iconic designer, Sir Terence Conran, has commissioned sustainable designer, Sebastian Cox to create a workspace for his office. When asked about the brief given to him, Sebastian commented: ‘It’s going to be a space that Terence can work in without distractions. It’ll be a cocoon-like desk with cabinet space around. A space for undistracted creative thought.’
Sebastian is known for his work in timber. He comments, ‘My work has always revolved around making lesser-used timbers more appealing through good design. Timber can’t respond to trends, it takes 150 years to grow, so we need to make sure we have a braod appreciation of all timber species, and not just focus on walnut or white oak which are currently in vogue.'
