US hardwood Lumber Exports to China Booms
The Outlook for the year and 2013

Widening North-South divide in European Market for hardwood lumber during 2011.
2011 was an unstable year for U.S. exports of American hardwood to Europe with some positive growth in exports to Northern European countries but increasing difficulties in the South.
Over the past few years, and particularly during the past two years, as the US and Australian dollars have remained close to parity, demand for American hardwoods in Australia has grown significantly.
Total exports of American hardwood lumber to the Middle East-North Africa (MENA) region during 2011 reached 69,520 m3 and a value of USD 49.25 million.
