Dubai Wood Show

American Hardwood Pavilion at Dubai Wood Show facilitates regional business opportunities

The sixth edition of the Dubai Wood Show was held from 3rd to 5th April at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. AHEC, together with the Hardwood States Export Group, took a 216 square metre space at the show and hosted an American Hardwood Pavilion. Fifteen US hardwood exporters took individual booths in the pavilion, along with AHEC itself, HSEG, the Appalachian Hardwood Manufacturers, Inc. and the Hardwood Plywood and Veneer Association.

Dubai Wood ShowAs in previous years, the show was well attended by visitors from all over the Middle East and neighbouring areas, who were drawn to this focused wood industry event. In fact, the Dubai Wood Show is the only show of its kind in the region and, because of this, it has become a key platform for the wood sector and an important event for US hardwood exporters to showcase their products and meet existing and potential customers. Visitors to the American Hardwood Pavilion ranged from timber importers to joinery and furniture manufacturers and these came from right across the Middle East and North Africa, as well as from Pakistan, Central Asia and East Africa. In particular, the Dubai Wood Show has become very important for wood industry professionals from countries such as Pakistan, where travel for US hardwood exporters may be difficult. A significant trade in US hardwoods has been developed with Pakistan and this can, in part, be directly attributable to American and Pakistani companies being able to meet at the show in Dubai.
